About WebP to PNG
A few things worth knowing before you convert WebP to PNG.

WebP files are small, but older software still greets them with 'cannot open this file'

PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, ideal for screenshots, icons and artwork you will edit again

An animated WebP keeps only its first frame; PNG is a still format

Browser-side processingSupports PNG / JPEG / WEBP / AVIF / GIF / BMP / HEIC
Upload image
Drag images into the area below, or click the button to choose one or more files. Everything runs locally and is never uploaded.
Drop an image to begin

Supports PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and HEIC (iPhone photos). You can resize the image, switch output format and adjust quality.

Conversion settings
Choose the output format first, then decide whether to change width and height. JPEG and WebP also support quality control.

Lossless, good for screenshots, icons and transparency

Resize mode
Lock ratio keeps the image undistorted; free stretch changes width and height independently; crop to fill scales by the larger ratio and crops the excess.
Supported formats
PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and HEIC/HEIF can be imported; PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP are available for export (the rest are input only).
  • Drop in a single WebP file, or select many and convert them to PNG in one batch
  • Resize while you convert: lock the aspect ratio, stretch freely, or crop to fill
  • Preview and download results one by one, or grab them all as a ZIP
  • No upload, no signup, no watermark — convert as many files as you want
  • PNG cannot recover detail WebP already threw away, and the file usually grows
  • PNG is lossless, so nothing is re-compressed and there is no quality setting
How to use it
Follow these steps to convert your image.
  1. 1Drop your WebP images into the upload area, or click to pick files — several at once is fine.

  3. 3Hit Generate — the conversion runs on your own device.
  4. 4Check the preview, then download the PNG images, or grab them all as a ZIP.
Notes and limitations
A few limitations and notes worth knowing before you use the tool.

Your WebP images are never uploaded — every conversion runs in your browser.

Close the tab and nothing is left behind: we store no images and keep no history.

There is no file limit, and we never watermark the PNG results.

FAQ
A few common questions before you start.

Are my WebP images uploaded to a server?

No. Your WebP files never leave your device — reading, decoding and exporting all happen in the browser, and nothing is stored on a server.

Is WebP to PNG free? Is there a file limit?

It is completely free and needs no account. Drop in as many WebP files as you like, convert them to PNG in one batch, and download everything as a ZIP.

Does an animated WebP stay animated as PNG?

Only the first frame survives. PNG is a still image format, so the remaining frames of an animated WebP are dropped — use a video or GIF tool if you need the motion.

Does converting to PNG improve the WebP quality?

No. Detail that WebP already discarded does not come back by saving it as lossless PNG, and the file usually gets bigger. The point is that further edits will not degrade it any more.

Does converting to PNG compress the image again?

No. PNG is lossless, so the picture is not re-compressed — that is also why there is no quality slider here. This step only changes the container.
